Winners of the inaugural Global IP Awards named at gala dinner in London

The winners of the inaugural Global IP Awards were honoured at a gala dinner attended by 200 people last night in London. Patent attorney and law firms from more than 50 countries were represented at the event, which took place at the Plaisterers’ Hall in the heart of the UK capital.

The Global IP Awards were developed by the IP Media Group, which publishes IAM and World Trademark Review (WTR), the world’s leading intellectual property intelligence, analysis and data platforms. They recognise outstanding achievement in IP litigation, prosecution and transactional work during 2018.

With a combined editorial and research team of 16 individuals - who between them possess decades of experience in covering the global IP market - IAM and WTR have unrivalled depth of knowledge and insight into the IP advice that law and attorney firms provide to their clients in every corner of the globe. This not only allows them to produce the IAM Patent 1000 and the WTR Trademark 1000 guides to top IP firms and practitioners, but also to identify the firms in those guides that achieved remarkable success in 2018. It was those firms who received the awards in London last night.

“We are proud to have launched the Global IP Awards and to salute the achievements of what is a truly outstanding line-up of elite law and attorney firms,” said Joff Wild, editor in chief of the IP Media Group. “The work they do can often make the difference between clients’ business success and failure, so we believe it is only right that those who consistently make the right calls at the right time are recognised for their professionalism and expertise. That is what the Global IP Awards are all about.”
