Stefan Tamme

Vice President of IP Strategy and Licensing at Rambus Inc

Stefan Tamme joined Rambus Inc in 2004 and currently serves as vice president of global licensing and IP strategy. In this role, he leads the strategic development of Rambus’s patent portfolio and the implementation of the company’s IP monetisation strategies through its licensing programmes and product offerings. His responsibilities include outbound licensing and standards activities, as well as acquisitions and divestitures. He has been involved in successfully negotiating and closing many transactions that have generated over $1.4 billion in revenues for Rambus. Previously, he served as Rambus’s director of global business enablement, where he led the strategic alliance partner programme and the worldwide reseller channel.

Mr Tamme has over 20 years’ experience in different areas of the electronics industry, ranging from semiconductors to systems and software. He has successfully built and led global teams and has been involved with inbound and outbound licensing of technologies and patents since the 1990s. He started his career at Bosch before working for several medium-sized companies and successful start-ups in Europe and the United States. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and he has held various leadership positions in the Licensing Executives Society for many years, currently serving on the board of the Silicon Valley Chapter.

Mr Tamme obtained an MBA from Pepperdine University and an MSEE from the Leibniz University Hanover, Germany.
