Satoshi Konno leads the IP consultation and investment division of Innovation Engine, Inc (IE), where he oversees the public investment and business development of IE portfolio companies. Through implementing IP-oriented differentiation strategies, he helps small to medium-sized companies forge alliances with large enterprises.
Before joining IE, Mr Konno initiated and successfully led the innovation division of IP Bridge, in particular supporting start-ups with promising technologies. Before IP Bridge, he co-founded Morphlabs, Inc, a US venture company specialising in cloud platform software globally, with an emphasis on Asia. Before Morphlabs, he worked at CSK Venture Capital (now Whiz Partners), one of the oldest venture capital firms in Japan, where he served as general manager of the overseas investment division. He was deeply involved as a board member of technology portfolio companies based in the United States, Israel, Korea, France and the Philippines, achieving more than 20% return on investment for his investors through multiple initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr Konno began his career as an IT network and database engineer at CSK (now SCSK, Sumitomo Group system integration company), where he remained for over 10 years. Today, he uses his technical, financial, entrepreneurial and IP skills to incubate and accelerate portfolio companies.
Mr Konno has a bachelor’s degree in international economics from Yokohama National University and an MBA with a strong focus on technology venture financing from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.
