Martin Jansson is a senior intellectual property strategist at AWA Strategy, a commercial-oriented business function within the AWA Group, which is dedicated to strengthening the competitiveness of knowledge-based companies using intellectual property.

His specialty lies in developing IP strategies that effectively translate into tangible business value for corporations. With a long background in industry, Mr Jansson has extensive practical experience in strategic and operational IP portfolio management, as well as how to manage and leverage a company’s intellectual assets through new offerings and business models including collaborations and partnerships.

Martin Jansson has been responsible for intellectual assets and intellectual property in numerous innovation collaboration projects and partnerships. Before joining AWA, he was head of IP strategy and intellectual assets at leading, bearing and seal manufacturing company AB SKF, where he was responsible for:

  • development, training and implementation of intellectual assets and IP strategies;
  • IP strategic tools and processes;
  • portfolio build-up;
  • exploitation strategies; and
  • IP portfolio assessments.

He has extensive practical experience in strategic and operational IP management from his roles as a strategic IP manager and portfolio owner for C-suite projects, concerning radical innovation, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, licensing and various other areas.
