Lakshika Joshi is the lead IP counsel, global and assistant vice president, legal at Capgemini Engineering, a global innovation and engineering company. She leads the IP compliance and governance programme, encompassing all forms of intangible assets within Capgemini Engineering Group. Managing strategic tie-ups, cross-border transactions, innovation and research and development, export controls, global compliances and policies, IP licensing and monetisation are her forte.
She has worked across sectors ranging from fintech, newspapers, books and guides, music, films, media and entertainment, publishing, e-commerce, IT, software and automobiles, to healthcare, wellness and the life sciences. She has a penchant for emerging technologies, resolving complex problems and balancing commercial interests with legal risks. In the past, Ms Joshi has had the privilege of establishing an IP and licensing division for a large public limited company and leading a 360 degree, one-stop-shop IP monetisation business for a large international media conglomerate.
Ms Joshi is a dynamic professional with rich and varied experience across legal and business functions. Her experience as a litigator during initial years of practice at the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India provide a unique perspective to her business-oriented approach.
Ms Joshi is actively involved in numerous discussions with academia, start-ups, government and industry on the changing business and legal ecosystem and its direct impact on licensing and IP monetisation. She is often heard speaking at various conferences, seminars and discussions across the globe. Ms Joshi enjoys conducting training on intellectual asset management, IP licensing, commercial contracts, negotiations and risk management. She has been recognised extensively for her efforts in making a difference in the IP and legal fraternity and has won several awards and accolades for outstanding work done.
