Alexis Dufourcq

Senior Director, Patent Licensing at TiVo

Alexis Dufourcq is a senior patent licensing executive working from Europe. During his career working with intellectual property, he has developed focused licensing-out strategies and negotiated multimillion-dollar complex outbound patent licensing agreements with worldwide companies.

Mr Dufourcq is senior director of patent licensing at TiVo, based in London. He is primarily responsible for licensing TiVo patented technologies relating to electronic programme guides, user interfaces, personal recommendations, video recording and time shifting. TiVo licensing programmes are designed to address the video entertainment and TV industries, from service providers, to over-the-top and consumer electronics players.

Before joining TiVo, Mr Dufourcq served as IP monetisation negotiator and senior IP counsel at Philips, where he was working at accelerating the development of light-emitting diode (LED) lighting by licensing Philips-patented LED technologies. Before Philips, he worked for Alliacense, the licensing arm of the TPL Group, where he licensed microprocessor/semiconductor patented technologies across Europe. Mr Dufourcq started his career at Alcatel Lucent where he launched a patent sales activity.

Mr Dufourcq holds a master’s degree in IP law from Paris Sud University and has been a visiting lecturer at Fudan University Law School in Shanghai, where he taught patent law, trade secrets and IP business matters.
