Chris Larus “helps corporate clients recognise and realise the value of their IP and makes effective use of unique and firm-proprietary tools to do so”. He’s deeply committed to enabling companies to be all they can be in the innovation space.
For more than 25 years, Christopher K Larus has helped innovative companies enforce and monetise intellectual property assets. He tries complex patent, trade secret, trademark, copyright, trade secret and licensing cases. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in courts throughout the country and in both national and international arbitration.
As chair of Robins Kaplan’s national intellectual property and technology litigation group, Mr Larus leads a nationally recognised practice of 50 trial attorneys, known for zealously representing and sharing risk with a broad range of clients, including some of the world’s largest technology-oriented companies, innovative emerging companies, and individual inventors, authors and developers.
Mr Larus has extensive experience planning and implementing licensing campaigns involving a broad range of intellectual property assets and technologies. He tailors licensing and enforcement strategies designed to maximise each client’s return on innovation. He also led Robins Kaplan’s efforts to develop proprietary software tools to help the firm’s clients identify potential trade secret misappropriation, and to identify patent assets that drive value in licensing and other monetisation efforts. These efforts contributed to the firm being recognised by The National Law Journal on its Legal Technology Trailblazers list (2022) and recognised as a finalist for The American Lawyer Industry Awards for Best Use of Technology (2021).
Mr Larus is regularly recognised for his outstanding work in publications such as World Trademark Review, Benchmark Litigation, Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, Managing IP and Best Lawyers. His clients report to Chambers: “He’s very strategic and he takes the time to understand and fulfill our objectives. He’s also very practical about how to achieve our desired outcome.”
