Haiping Tao is a partner and senior patent attorney of Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd and a patent attorney.
She graduated from the College of Environmental and Energy Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, with a master’s degree. She is very experienced in drafting patent application documents and responses to office actions, with especially deep experience drafting and amending claims and responses to office actions in various countries with respect to standards-essential patents in the communication field. In addition to drafting and exploitation of patent application documents and responses to office actions, her practice specialties include invalidation, re-examination and patent research in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, computer software, solutions and communication network, among others. In the past 17 years, Ms Tao has drafted over 600 patent applications, including more than 200 patent applications in the field of communication standard, and handled hundreds of office actions across many countries.
Ms Tao frequently leads patent attorney training courses organised by the All-China Patent Attorneys Association, as well as other training courses related to intellectual property for clients.
Ms Tao helped compile the reponses to notifications of office actions for electronics in Teaching Material Series for Patent Attorney Training: The Practice of the Patent Application Agency. She has also authored a number of articles for China Patent and Invention and China Business Law, among other publications.
Ms Tao has received the title of “Beijing Municipal Excellent Patent Attorney”.
