Giancarlo Belloni's Profile

Giancarlo Belloni is an Italian and European patent attorney who represents clients in patent and design matters before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, the EPO, the WIPO and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. He is also qualified to represent clients before the Unitary Patent Court.

Mr Belloni graduated in aerospace engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan, specialising in aerospace structures. In particular, he worked on an experimental thesis about characterization of different composite materials.

Before joining Thinx, Mr Belloni had worked from 2001 for some of the most important Italian IP firms. His university education led him to become a patent attorney specialised in patents related to mechanical inventions, such as housewares, medical devices, metallurgical plants, firearms, industrial fans, polyurethane injection molding apparatuses and carbon capture and storage plants.

He had the opportunity to support several kinds of clients which range from private inventors to research institutes, from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational companies. The accumulated experience brought him to have a wide knowledge of the procedures related to the protection of industrial property, through patents, utility models and design registrations. Mr Belloni helps his clients daily in the entire process of the protection path, from the preliminary steps, through the grant procedure, up to possible post-grant issues such as oppositions or lawsuits about infringement and validity.
