Silver - Individuals: litigation
For over 25 years LexOrbis has provided A-to-Z, premier IP services, often to well-known multinationals, leading domestic firms and research institutions. The outfit’s large engineering and sciences patent groups are stacked with technically minded, seasoned experts, who deftly handle complex cases, often involving cutting-edge technical areas. Founder Manisha Singh is a commercially savvy lawyer whose effective, innovative solutions have been appreciated by several Fortune 500 companies. With 30 years of experience, head of litigation and enforcement Abhai Pandey is a courtroom veteran who has what it takes to successfully resolve IP matters for his clients. Leading the sciences practice is pharmacist Rajeev Kumar, who assists patrons in securing patent protection not only in India, but also in the United States and Europe. High-tech ace Joginder Singh has a strong background in computer science, electronics and telecoms technology. He handles both contentious and non-contentious matters and works hand in hand with inventors to identify the crucial features of their inventions.
Abhai Pandey is a partner and leads the litigation and enforcement team at LexOrbis. He focuses on intellectual property litigations, criminal enforcement and contested proceedings at the Indian Trademark and Patent Offices. He also advises clients on brand protection strategies for social media, Internet and advertisements and has been successfully running several anti-counterfeiting campaigns in India for a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individual entrepreneurs. He has successfully resolved cases in favour of clients and has represented them at multiple forums, including several district and high courts, former Intellectual Property Appellate Board and Indian Trademark and Patent Offices. He represents a broad range of businesses and industries, including fashion, media and entertainment, publishing, fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, electronics, automobile and ICT.
Mr Pandey has run a pan-India anti-piracy campaign for the global publishing industry in India, resulting in criminal raid actions of over 500 pirate businesses. Mr Pandey also led anti-counterfeiting campaigns for luxury goods brands and has organised raid actions across India against leading importers, stockists and online sellers. The campaign involved legal actions against counterfeit sellers at the first generation e-market in the early 2000s and opened a debate on the platform’s liabilities. He also led and devised strategies for a group of automobile component companies to stop counterfeiting of their products in north India, particularly in semi-urban and rural markets.
