For over 25 years, Thomas Bopp has focused his practice on patent litigation. While his extensive experience includes a wide range of industries, including technologies such as medical devices, mobile telecommunications, consumer electronics, consumer products, biotechnology and chemicals, Dr Bopp has established a particularly impressive track record of success in the field of pharmaceuticals and life sciences. He regularly coordinates pan-European patent enforcement and defence strategies.

Who’s Who Legal Germany (2017) highlights his “reputation for being a ‘brilliant advocate and a fine strategist’”. The law directory JUVE German Commercial Law Firms (2015/2016) lists Dr Bopp as one of the frequently recommended leading senior partners in patent litigation and describes him as “a leading player when it comes to pharmaceutical litigation”. Dr Bopp is author of various publications on patent law and the co-editor and co-author, of a legal handbook on litigation in the Unified Patent Court (to be published), a topic on which he is a regular speaker, as well. Dr Bopp was made partner at Gleiss Lutz in 1992. As of counsel he focuses his practice on particularly complex, high-value patent litigation and arbitration as well as related strategic counselling.
