Simon Chalkley is a leading practitioner in IP strategy, counselling and transactional work. He has more than 25 years’ experience in this field.
Mr Chalkley is widely acclaimed for his expertise in licensing and other commercial IP transactions and related advice across all IP rights. He has a wealth of experience in patent, know-how and IP licensing, as well as other arrangements such as commissioning, research and development and collaboration deals. Much of his work has an international element.
Mr Chalkley works with a broad range of innovation-led businesses with experience across a variety of sectors, including video games, personal care, consumer goods, consumer electronics and software (including AI). He is also well known for his work with brand-led businesses in the fashion and retail sectors and handles all manner of commercial and IP issues relevant to such companies, including supply, distribution (including selective distribution) and brand licences.
Mr Chalkley also regularly advises on contractual disputes arising from IP and technology transactions, as well as competition law issues relating to commercial IP agreements.
Mr Chalkley is president of the Licensing Executives Society Britain and Ireland.
