Sarah Innes is a partner whose focus is advice to clients in the life sciences sector. She is experienced in contentious, non-contentious and advisory work in this sector and specialises in patent litigation and EU and UK medicines law. Ms Innes also has experience working in the in-house legal team of a major pharmaceutical company.
Work highlights include acting for Sandoz on High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings defending a patent infringement claim in relation to a transdermal opioid patch. Following the infringement trial, Ms Innes acted for Sandoz in the inquiry proceedings which involved the largest-ever damages inquiry following a finding of non-infringement of a patent in the English courts. She has also acted for Teva in relation to High Court patent revocation proceedings regarding a blockbuster oncology product and, most recently, treatment for multiple sclerosis.
Ms Innes has also represented a multinational pharmaceutical company on proceedings in the EU General Court regarding regulatory data protection for an oncology product. She also has experience in relation to judicial review proceedings in front of the UK Administrative Court concerning a marketing authorisation application for a treatment for multiple sclerosis.
