Peter Sørensen has technical expertise within mechanics, electronics, physics, optics and process chemistry. He also works with nanotechnology, medico technology and computer-implemented inventions (software). Specifically, Mr Sørensen has experience with wind turbines, imaging/microscopy, optical recording/printing, medical imaging (including catheters, ultrasonics and MR), decision-support systems, surgical equipment/implants, micro/nanolithography and biofuel plants, among others.
Mr Sørensen has experience within identifying, generating and prosecuting patent rights with a special focus on post-grant patent-related work, including infringement/freedom-to-operate analysis, oppositions, re-examinations and appeals. Furthermore, he is experienced in oral proceedings before the European Patent Office and the Danish Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr Sørensen participates in Plougmann Vingtoft’s internal teaching of associates and regularly gives presentations on patent law. He has successfully completed the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies course on patent litigation in Europe at the University of Strasbourg and will therefore receive the European Patent Litigation Certificate under the Unified Patent Court when it enters into force.
Besides Danish and English, Mr Sørensen speaks some German and Latvian and is currently attending a French language course. He has worked at Plougmann Vingtoft since 2002 and is one of the partners in the firm.
