Péter Lukácsi is a partner at SBGK Attorneys at Law and Patent Attorneys. His main areas of practice include advice, prosecution and litigation in various fields of IP law (eg, trademarks, copyrights and designs), as well as advice and litigation in competition law. He also has extensive experience negotiating and drafting distribution and franchising agreements.
His main cases include representing the plaintiff in the first Community design infringement case before the Hungarian courts; and representing UNILEVER NV before the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in the first preliminary ruling referral to the ECJ from a Hungarian court in a trademark matter.
Mr Lukácsi is a member of the International Trademark Association’s Designs Committee, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA), where he is also chair of ECTA’s Professional Affairs Committee. He has been recently elected to the Council of the Hungarian Trademark Association and is a member of the Hungarian Council of Copyright Experts. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Council of Industrial Property Experts and vice president of trademark, competition law and designs for the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright.
Mr Lukácsi is a regular speaker at IP law conferences and author of several publications within the field of IP law, in Hungarian and foreign languages. In 2018 he was awarded a PhD from the faculty of law at Eötvös Loránd University, where he is a senior lecturer.
