Neeti Wilson joined IP-focused law firm Anand and Anand in 2005 and is an equity partner in the patents and designs department. She is registered to practise before the Indian Patent Office and is enrolled with the Bar Council of India. She has the expertise to handle technical and legal issues effectively. Dr Wilson’s expertise includes IP protection, valuation and patent due diligence. She also provides strategic planning for IP portfolio management and the monetisation of IP assets. She actively represents clients before different forums, including the Indian Patents, Designs and Trademark Office, the Plant Variety Authority, the National Biodiversity Authority, the IP Appellate Board and the Indian courts.
Dr Wilson has served as an executive committee member of the India chapter of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association and the India representative of its Emerging IP Rights Committee. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys. She is a board member of the Zonal Technology Management and Business Planning and Development Unit of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute and was part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Committee for developing guidelines for IP management and the commercialisation of technologies.
Dr Wilson actively participates in national and international conferences and is keen to spread awareness on IP and biological diversity-related issues. She has spoken at several seminars and workshops and is a visiting scholar at various universities. She is passionate about protecting the environment and is continuously working on finding creative solutions to streamline operations and automate office activities.
Previously, Dr Wilson was a research scientist at the Energy and Resources Institute, a scientist at the Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council and worked at the Patent Facilitating Centre.
Dr Wilson has a BSc, an LLB, an MSc (biotechnology) and a PhD in applied sciences. Her PhD thesis focused on genome analysis of the Populus species.
