Neeraj Thomas is of counsel in CMS's Scottish technology, IP and media team and leads CMS's Scottish IP litigation practice.
Mr Thomas has significant expertise in all areas of contentious intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, copyright, confidential information and designs. On the contentious IP side, Mr Thomas has acted for a number of large international, UK and Scottish companies. He is very experienced in managing and running contentious IP litigation, the majority of which takes place in the Court of Session (Scotland’s Supreme Court). He is one of a handful of IP litigators accredited as an IP specialist by the Law Society of Scotland and he sits on the Law Society of Scotland’s IP sub-committee.
Mr Thomas advises clients in a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, financial services, media, sport, food and drink, and hospitality. He has advised on a number of significant patent/know-how disputes this year, especially in the oil and gas sector.
Mr Thomas also works closely with our patent attorney team and non-contentious IP team to offer clients a complete one-stop shop for all IP and patent matters in Scotland. The ability to offer this one-stop shop for patent clients in Scotland is unique to CMS.
