Managing Partner at LDS Łazewski Depo & Partners
Marek Łazewski’s practice focuses particularly on complex patent litigation in the fields of pharma and biotechnology. In recent years he has managed litigation for several highly successful international pharmaceutical products. He has built an outstanding reputation in obtaining supplementary protection certificates (SPCs) for his clients. By combining his understanding of broad substantive law and rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union with his mastery of procedures and thorough understanding of chemical and pharmaceutical technologies, Mr Łazewski and his team were able to liberalise the previously very restrictive SPC grant practice of the Polish Patent Office.
Additionally, Mr Łazewski has overhauled the processes of the firm’s validation department, which manages patent portfolios for regional and global players. This involved helping the validation team to establish new procedures to develop substantial know-how in the validation process and deliver seamless services. The consolidation of practices under the most innovative, highest quality system on the Polish market means that each stage of the validation process is now fully controlled, providing quality and timely delivery of tasks that are critical for our clients.
In addition to his patent experience, Mr Łazewski advises clients on trademark enforcement strategies and trademark infringement cases.
Mr Łazewski is also the secretary general of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). This position gives him unparalleled access to international IP policy and politics.
Mr Łazewski is frequenty recognised as a leading lawyer in patent and trademark practice by the most renowned legal directories, including Chambers and Partners Europe and Global Guides, the IAM Patent 1000 and the WTR 1000.
