Magdalena Tagowska

Head of Patent Department at PATPOL – European and Polish Patent and Trademark Attorneys

Magdalena Tagowska is a patent attorney and head of the patent department at PATPOL – European and Polish Patent and Trademark Attorneys. She specialises in the prosecution of patents in the fields of chemistry, pharmacy and biotechnology, as well as in obtaining supplementary protection certificates. She also handles inter partes proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the administrative courts.

Dr Tagowska has been a patent attorney since 2009. She is the co-author of scientific publications in the fields of electrochemistry and nanostructures, as well as publications related to Polish industrial property law. She teaches courses related to IP protection at Warsaw University and Warsaw University of Technology.

Dr Tagowska leads a team of over 30 people in PATPOL’s patents department. She represents local and international clients, including:

  • blue chip companies;
  • research institutions, biotech clusters, university technology transfer centres; and
  • innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland.

Dr Tagowska has a PhD in chemistry from Warsaw University and she also graduated from the American Studies Centre at Warsaw University. She speaks English and Polish.
