Henning Voelkel is a partner at the law office Voelkel Kataliakos Roussou. Voelkel Kataliakos Roussou was established in 2018 by three highly experienced lawyers, recognised in the field of commercial law and IP law.
Dr Voelkel graduated from the University of Heidelberg, Germany with a law degree and has a master’s and a PhD from Athens University. He was admitted to the German Bar in 2004, the Greek (Athens) Bar in 2005 and he is admitted to practise before the Supreme Court and Council of State in Greece. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
Dr Voelkel is an expert in IP litigation in Greece, especially in patent, plant variety and trademark cases. He has extensive experience handling IP issues, including consultation and legal representation of major multinational companies. He has been recognised as one of the leading IP experts in Greece by several publications.
As a native German speaker, fluent in Greek and English, he is well placed to assist international clients in patent, plant variety and trademark cases in Greece.
He has handled various patent litigations and patent nullity proceedings, mainly concerning pharmaceutical patents, but also in the field of electronics. Several of the patent litigations handled by Dr Voelkel have been multi-jurisdictional. He currently represents leading pharmaceutical companies in patent litigations.
