Innovation is the lifeblood of the US economy. For more than 25 years, Christopher K Larus has helped his clients protect their IP rights. He tries complex patent, trade secret, trademark, copyright and licence dispute cases. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in courts throughout the country, and in both national and international arbitration.
Mr Larus chairs Robins Kaplan’s national IP and technology litigation practice. He works with clients to protect and monetise IP assets outside of disputes context. He has extensive experience planning and implementing licensing campaigns involving a broad range of IP assets and technologies. He works to tailor licensing and enforcement strategies designed to maximise each client’s return on innovation.
In addition to directly advocating for his clients, Mr Larus has extensive experience as an arbitrator in both national and international arbitration. He serves as an appointed arbitrator in disputes before the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
Mr Larus has been named a “Top Trademark Professional” in the 2019 edition of World Trademark Review 1000, a “Notable Practitioner in Intellectual Property Law” by Chambers and among the IAM “Strategy 300”. In 2016 he was recognised as an “Intellectual Property Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal. Mr Larus is a frequent lecturer and author on IP topics, and is often quoted in the business and legal press.
