With over 10 years of experience in research and product development, Benno M Guggenheimer brings his technical background to bear on his patent work for Fortune 500 companies. His practice includes patent prosecution and patent analysis for consumer electronic devices, software products, networked systems, medical devices, control systems, automated systems and other related technologies.
Mr Guggenheimer works closely with his clients to develop and maintain patent portfolios that are relevant and commercially viable. His experience developing defensive patent assets helps protect valuable investments in product development and innovation. Mr Guggenheimer also routinely provides analysis for patent acquisitions, preparation for licensing and licence enforcement for consumer electronics, software products and a variety of other technical areas. He applies his litigation experience to patent disputes and is skilled at asset assertion, infringement analysis, patent defence and patent due diligence.
Prior to joining Brownstein, Mr Guggenheimer was an associate with Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco, California, and a judicial extern for the Honourable George P Schiavelli in the US District Court for the Southern District of California. Mr Guggenheimer attended University of California Los Angeles School of Law where he served as senior articles editor for the Journal of Law and Technology.
