Through his broad IP practice, Mr Benitah works with clients on all facets of intellectual property, from patents, trademark and copyrights, to industrial design and trade secrets. Providing thoughtful, strategic and tailored advice, he assists clients through the creation, protection, commercialisation, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property.
Mr Benitah manages extensive domestic and international patent, trademark and industrial design portfolios, with particular experience acting for manufacturing and technology companies.
He assists clients with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Working primarily in the mechanical and electromechanical arts, he advises on all issues relating to patentability, validity, infringement and enforcement of patent rights.
In addition to his patent prosecution practice, Mr Benitah regularly advises on the transfer and acquisition of IP assets and drafts and negotiates commercial agreements ranging from licence, non-disclosure, research and development agreements, to security interest, technology transfer and collaboration and co-development agreements.
Mr Benitah has been recognised for his patent expertise in Who’s Who Legal Canada and the IAM Patent 1000. He is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and an affiliate member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
