Gabriela Salerno is a partner at Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Vieira de Mello and head of the technical team of Montaury’s patent department, where she advises clients on a wide range of technical issues with regard to patent prosecution, particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. Further, she has a background in innovation management and is chair of the biotechnology committee at the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property, where she coordinates projects related to competitive intelligence. Ms Salerno graduated with a BSc in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Ana Paula Affonso Brito


Ana Paula Brito is a trial lawyer, who has worked in IP litigation since 2001. She has extensive expertise in litigation before Brazilian federal and state courts, acting for both domestic and international clients. Ms Brito’s diverse practice includes evaluating potential litigation risks, collaborating with corporate departments and developing mitigation solutions and litigation strategies as well as handling and monitoring them. She assists clients across different fields of activity and technologies, such as pharmaceuticals, telecoms, house appliances, crop science, cosmetics, fashion, food, oil and gas, machinery and software, among others.

Alper Ertas


Alper Ertas advises clients in all aspects of IP protection, enforcement, defence and asset acquisition. He focuses on IP disputes in federal court and before the US International Trade Commission. Saya Choudhary Kapur


Saya Choudhary Kapur is a partner at Singh and Singh Law Firm and heads a patent litigation team, which primarily deals with litigation in multiple fields, such as telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. She has been there for 12 years and has handled various landmark patent cases in India. With extensive experience in dealing with SEP disputes, Ms Choudhary has also handled various mediation and arbitration proceedings with regard to FRAND licensing issues and is actively involved in policy issues.
