Since the publication of IP Value 2008 there have been a number of key developments in Swedish IP law, including the introduction of less stringent requirements for the translation of European patents, as well as a number of proposals for changes to existing law, including a simplified trademark registration process and the strengthened protection of trade secrets. In addition, the recent adoption of a new Marketing Practices Act may affect the way in which businesses market their valuable IP rights.
