Harry Rubin is co-chair of Ropes & Gray’s international practice group and resident in the firm’s New York Office.
Mr Rubin is a globally recognised authority on IP strategy, transactions and financing, and technology commercialisation. Mr Rubin has extensive experience in the representation of leading private equity firms, financial institutions and technology and life science companies in domestic and global acquisitions, mergers, spin-outs, restructurings, financings, strategic alliances and joint ventures, technology transfers, licensing, outsourcing, IP finance, protection and commercialisation, and high-stakes dispute settlements. He is particularly experienced in cross-border matters involving the United States, Germany, France, India and Israel.
Mr Rubin has represented clients, ranging from disruptive start-ups to industry-leading multinationals, in the automotive, fintech, travel, defence, software, bio-information, advanced materials, life sciences, health information technology, medical device, entertainment, semiconductor, electronics, publishing, branded and consumer products, luxury goods, communications and internet sectors.
Mr Rubin has published extensively on international business transactions, IP finance, outsourcing, joint ventures, technology transfers, licensing, internet law and intellectual property. His book International Technology Transfers (Kluwer Law International) is widely considered the standard reference text in the field. He is a frequent speaker on these topics in leading conferences worldwide and has received numerous prominent professional recognitions and accolades.
Mr Rubin is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) President’s Task Force on the Future of Legal Services and former co-chair of the Technology Committee of the IBA. He is fluent and transacts business in English, German, Hebrew and French.
