Dr Helen G Papaconstantinou and Partners (HP&P) is one of the oldest IP law firms in Greece, recognised as the country’s leading boutique. Evolving from the law offices of Theodorides and Papaconstantinou (founded 1920) and Dr Helen Papaconstantinou, John Filias and Associates, HP&P was established as a law firm in October 2015.
Following the retirement of Dr Papaconstantinou at the end of 2018, co-founder Eva Yazitzoglou took over as managing partner. Holding a law degree from the University of Athens, she is an attorney at law and a European patent attorney. Ms Yazitzoglou has more than 40 years’ professional experience in trademark, patent and copyright law, including consultation, management and maintenance of international trademark and patent portfolios, and advises major international clients in all industry sectors. She is a council member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the EPO (epi) and an active member of several other professional bodies including the Athens Bar (since 1974), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), MARQUES and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
Miranda Theodoridou, partner and co-founder, heads the administrative courts department. Holding a law degree from the University of Athens and an MBA from the University of Derby, Ms Theodoridou is a European patent attorney with over 35 years’ experience in all IP issues and has been a member of the Athens Bar since 1980. She represents major multinational companies before the higher instances of the administrative courts and in IP litigation, while providing consultation in all trademark, copyright and domain name matters and matters concerning the EU General Data Protection Regulation. She is a council member of the European Communities Trademark Association, epi, AIPPI and INTA.
Maria Athanassiadou, partner and co-founder, heads the patents and industrial designs department. She holds a law degree from the University of Athens and a master’s in Spanish studies from the University of Barcelona. She is an attorney at law and has been a member of the Athens Bar since 1996. With more than 20 years’ experience in all IP fields, she focuses her practice on IP litigation, prosecution and counselling, with a particular emphasis on patents, utility models, supplementary protection certificates (SPCs), industrial designs and trademarks, advising major international clients especially in the pharmaceutical sector. Ms Athanassiadou is an active member of the INTA and the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group.
Fotini Kardiopoulis, partner and co-founder of the firm, heads the anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy department. Holding a law degree from the University of Athens and an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science, she has been a member of the Athens Bar since 1985. Since 1998 Ms Kardiopoulis has been dealing with a broad range of IP matters, with an emphasis on trademarks, plant breeder’s rights, contract drafting and reviewing, and alternative dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in IP litigation, devising and implementing anti-counterfeiting programmes, filing and administering customs actions, monitoring and enforcing IP rights online and advising on domain name disputes. An active member of the International Community of Breeders of Asexually Reproduced Ornamental and Fruit Varieties, MARQUES and INTA, Ms Kardiopoulis is a regular speaker on IP issues.
All four partners are admitted to practise before the Supreme Court and the Council of State and regularly publish articles in their fields of expertise.

HP&P is registered with the Athens Bar Association and is a member of the Greek Association of Law Firms.
