Jon Putnam founded Competition Dynamics as a platform for economic research and testimony at the intersection of intellectual property, competition and international trade law.
Dr Putnam regularly testifies in IP litigation with more than $500 million in controversy and has testified in courts and regulatory agencies in the United States and abroad, before the US Federal Trade Commission and the US International Trade Commission, as well as in US and international arbitrations.
Before founding Competition Dynamics, Dr Putnam held a professorship in the law and economics of intellectual property at the University of Toronto, and academic appointments at universities in the United States.
Dr Putnam holds a PhD in economics from Yale University. His thesis, ‘The Value of International Patent Rights’, was the first to measure the world value of patent rights.
