Andy Hilton has a wide breadth of experience having worked as a patent attorney in private practice, as in-house IP counsel and as an engineer in industry. His background is in the field of medical devices, completing a PhD in the design of an artificial heart, before working for a medical device company. He transitioned from industry to private practice, serving clients in the medical device, automotive, renewable energy and downhole technology sectors. Before joining Haley Guiliano, he worked as IP counsel for an international automotive firm, managing the IP function for the firm in the United Kingdom. As a result, he has a particular interest in understanding clients’ IP needs and developing their IP strategy to best suit the commercial environment.
