When seeking to enforce its rights in theUnited Kingdom, a European patent holderhas four possible courts where it can bringinfringement proceedings. The two maincourts where infringement proceedings areconducted are the Patents Court of the HighCourt of England and Wales and the PatentsCounty Court for England and Wales. Bothcourts can grant an injunction and awarddamages against an infringer for the wholeof the United Kingdom. It is also possible toobtain this sort of relief against an infringerfrom the Court of Session in Scotland andfrom the High Court in Northern Ireland.
