The holder of a European patent may bringcivil proceedings to enforce its rights inIreland. Ireland has transposed into nationallaw the EC Directive on the Enforcement ofIntellectual Property Rights, whichharmonised enforcement proceduresthroughout the European Union. Thus, theholder of a European patent can expect tohave similar enforcement remediesavailable to it in Ireland as in other memberstates.
