Iancu calls for 101 shake-up in keynote at IPBC Global and all the other stories on IAM over the last week

This week on IAM we reported direct from IPBC Global 2018 in San Francisco. Speaking in the opening plenary of the event, new USPTO director Andrei Iancu made clear that the patent eligibility regime in the US had become dysfunctional and that further PTAB reforms are on the cards. There were other keynotes, too, from GE's chief innovation officer Sue Siegel and EPO president Benoit Battistelli. Elsewhere, we looked at a big move into blockchain by a group that includes former high-profile Amex and Intellectual Ventures employees, and we focused on the latest developments relating to what could be a gamechanging Ericssson 5G patent application.
