A European patent has the same effects inGreece as a national patent granted by theGreek Industrial Property Organisation,provided that the patent holder files withthe Greek Industrial Property Organisation acertified translation of the patent withinthree months of publication of the decisionto grant the European patent. Therefore, aEuropean patent holder enjoys the samelevel of protection as a national patentholder and can seek to enforce its rightsexclusively through the channel of civillitigation. European patent applicants canalso enjoy provisional protection in Greece,as long as they file a certified translationof the patent claims into Greek.
