AFD China Intellectual Property Law Office
Mengmeng Yu is an associate with AFD China. She is a patent attorney and a registered plant variety rights agent. She focuses her practice on IP prosecution and counselling. Her role in the firm includes acting as a client and media liaison to maintain supportive partnerships with overseas clients and arrange media exposure and publicity. Ms Yu holds a doctorate in biotechnology and a BEng in food science. She also worked as a visiting scholar at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Centre of the US Department of Agriculture, where she trained as a chemical analyst from 2009 to 2010.
Xia Zheng is president and founder of AFD China, and a patent attorney, trademark attorney and attorney at law. She started her career in IP practice in 1987 and practises in many areas of the field, especially IP strategy, prosecution, post-grant proceedings and IP-related litigation. Ms Zheng participates actively in the industry and serves as a director of the All-China Patent Attorneys Association, standing director of the Beijing Patent Attorneys Association and director of the Beijing Intellectual Property Association. She was named a National IP Talent in 2016, Beijing Outstanding Patent Attorney of 2014 and an Excellent Legal Professional of Haidian in 2012 and is recommended as a leading practitioner by numerous publications, including theIAM Patent 1000.
Xue Li has been working as a trademark attorney with AFD China since graduating from Dalian Maritime University with an LLM in constitutional and administrative law in July 2011. She passed the Chinese Bar in 2010 and obtained her Chinese law licence in July 2012. She has significant experience in trademark practice and IP enforcement and litigation.
Beijing IPHOUSE Network Technology Co Ltd
Ming Zhong was born in Shandong Province in 1975. He graduated from the Law School of Renmin University of China in 2002 and obtained a master’s degree in civil and commercial law. He has since worked for the IP division of the Higher People’s Court of Beijing Municipality and was appointed as a judge in 2005. He obtained a doctorate in IP law in 2015 and has served as senior vice president of Beijing IPHOUSE Network Technology Co Ltd since 2016. He is a council member of the China IP Law Society.
Xiang Pu, born in 1976, graduated from Capital University of Economics and Business with a master of law degree in 2002. From 2002 to 2013 he worked at the Chaoyang District People’s Court in Beijing, where he held the posts of chief judge and deputy presiding judge, authored decisions on key subjects and received a number of citations as a national civil servant. He founded Beijing IPHOUSE Network Technology Co Ltd in 2014 and serves as chief executive officer of the company. He is a part-time professor and research fellow of many colleges and universities, and an executive director of the Beijing Science and Technology Law Society.
Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd
Jian Chen is a partner in Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd and the director of Wanrui law firm, a subsidiary of Sanyou IP Group. He graduated with an LLB from Tsinghua University Law School and an LLM in international and comparative law from Chicago-Kent College, Illinois, United States. His areas of expertise include patent drafting, re-examination, invalidation, administrative litigation, infringement litigation, infringement analysis and legal advice in the fields of mechanics and electronics, among others. His practice includes both litigation and commercial advice in these areas.

Gang Hu is deputy director of the international trademark department. He is a qualified attorney at law, patent attorney and trademark attorney.

Ling Zhao is a team leader in the international trademark department. She is a qualified trademark attorney and an attorney at law.
Ms Zhao joined the firm in 2000 and her practice focuses on trademark search and watch, trademark prosecution, administrative protection of trademark rights, trademark administrative litigation, trademark infringement litigation, legal opinions on trademark infringement, licensing of trademarks, trademark strategy, enforcement of copyright and unfair competition. She represents many well-known brand owners in developing their brand protection strategies and protecting their trademark rights in China, including obtaining recognition of well-known trademarks before the trademark authorities and the court.

Stephen Yang is a Chinese patent attorney and partner with Chofn Intellectual Property, an IP law firm in China. His practice covers patent search, legal opinions, drafting, prosecution, re-examination, invalidation and litigation in mechanics, electronics, energy and high-tech areas. He began to practise patent law in 1997 in a Chinese IP law firm in Beijing. He then worked as an in-house patent specialist in Canada and another Chinese IP firm in Beijing before he joined Chofn in 2016. He received double bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering from Tsinghua University in China and a master’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from the University of Toronto in Canada. Lei Zhou is the vice manager in Linda Liu & Partners’ domestic department. She graduated with an ME and BE in integrated circuits from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. She deals with patent drafting, invalidation and infringement proceedings for leading domestic and international high-tech companies before the Patent Re-examination Board and the courts. Her areas of expertise include telecommunications, computer science and microelectronics. Before she headed the domestic department, she spent 10 years working for several major international companies, including Apple and IBM. Her work has been appraised as Best Drafted Case of the Year by IBM. She gained substantial experience with A-D converter design as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Nancy (Xiaowen) Song
Nancy (Xiaowen) Song is a group leader in Linda Liu & Partners’ electrical engineering department. She graduated with a BE from Tsinghua University and is admitted as an LLM candidate at Santa Clara University School of Law, Santa Clara, United States. She serves medium-sized and large consumer electronics companies from the United States, Japan and Europe. Her areas of expertise include computer databases, medical instruments and secured identification and authentication instruments. Her practice encompasses patent drafting, prosecution, invalidation, portfolio analysis and commercial advice in these areas. Before joining Linda Liu & Partners, she was senior patent counsel with a global leader in integrated circuit chip design.

Liqing Wan has practised in IP affairs at Liu, Shen & Associates since 2007.
