Renee Xavier - Alpha & Omega Law Corporation
Renee Xavier is founder and director of Alpha & Omega Law Corporation, a law firm specialising in intellectual asset law. Established in 2003, the practice expanded beyond Singapore with offices in Malaysia and the Philippines.
Admitted to practise in Singapore, Malaysia and the United Kingdom, Ms Xavier has 27 years of experience, beginning her career as a litigator in civil and commercial matters, before moving on to real estate, property, banking and corporate law. She found her calling when she was given the opportunity to practise pure IP law at one of Singapore’s largest IP consultancy firms.
Today, Ms Xavier champions the strategic management and deployment of intellectual property and its powerful role in driving business growth, beyond the traditional concept of IP protection.
Certified by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and Singapore Business Advisors and Consultants Council (SBACC) as a practice management consultant, Ms Xavier is passionate about helping clients commercialise and capitalise on their IP assets to generate revenue and achieve sustainable growth, be they individuals, start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), multinational companies and non-profit organisations.
Ms Xavier’s leading expertise in IP law and intangible assets is focused on the development and management of clients’ IP strategies and portfolios on an international level, aligning them to their business objectives. This includes IP audit, business model development, brand name development and media rights, as well as the global management of trademarks, domain names, patents, designs, trade secrets and copyright assets on behalf of clients, and domestic and international IP clearance, prosecution, enforcement and litigation.
An avid advocate of knowledge sharing, Ms Xavier enjoys passing on her wealth of knowledge via her teaching engagements with IP Academy Singapore (a subsidiary of IPOS), the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. She also conducts training to empower businesses with strategic IP knowledge and provides pro bono legal clinics for SMEs and non-profit organisations.
