Vincent Puyplat - France Brevets
Vincent Puyplat is vice president, licensing at France Brevets SAS. France Brevets is an IP-focused investment, monetisation and IP strategic management company that was established by the French government and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations in 2011. France Brevets has overseen major worldwide licensing programmes, including on near field communication technology, and has initiated a significant number of patent factories for research organisations and small and medium-sized enterprises that have generated high-quality patents, including on 5G technology.
Before joining France Brevets in May 2015, Mr Puyplat was principal IP counsel at PHILIPS, where he conducted a large number of patent licensing negotiations in relation to lighting technologies.
Before PHILIPS, he was vice president, licensing at Technicolor, where he led several significant IP transactions and oversaw key strategic initiatives in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, including acquisition, licensing and offensive patent enforcement programmes.
Mr Puyplat is a qualified French IP counsellor from the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies at the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, specialising in IP law. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in operations management and information technology from Hautes Etudes Commerciales and an electronics engineering degree from Institut Supérieur d’Electronique, both in Paris.
