Peter Harter - The Farrington Group
Peter Harter bridges the ecosystems of technology, business, law and politics. He advises management, boards, investors and inventors on the risks of legislation, regulation, court cases, politics, reputation, media, standards, treaties, capital, property and labour.
Mr Harter is the founder of The Farrington Group, a consultancy that generates competitive advantage for clients by discovering and revealing the fifth corner in a room to connect semantically disparate ideas, facts, observations and people.
Mr Harter’s areas of activity focus on the three related areas of patents, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. He also works in antitrust and competition, copyrights, open source, export controls, election administration and voting technologies, advanced nuclear reactor design development and rare disease research reform, including medical marijuana. His career began in 1993 as an internet lawyer. He broadened his career in Silicon Valley as head of global government affairs for Netscape and EMusic.com, and in business development and sales for Securify and a variety of start-ups, corporations and funds. He further deepened his experience in Washington DC, lobbying on patent reform for Intellectual Ventures.
Mr Harter is a graduate of Lehigh University and Villanova Law School. He resides in Sonoma County, California.
