Anne Sønstevold joined Zacco in 2001. She works on patent consultancy in general and the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, with a major emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals and professional opinions and litigation cases.
Ms Sønstevold has been working in the patent area since 1997, when she joined Tandbergs Patentkontor AS. From 1983 to 1997, Ms Sønstevold worked as a research scientist: from 1983 to 1984 she was a research fellow at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, working within the field of haematology and cell biology; from 1985 to 1986 she worked as a research scientist at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, studying physiological processes with soldiers under severe physical and mental stress; and in 1986 she was employed as a research scientist and later as manager of Nycomed Imaging AS (later Amersham Health) working on in vivo and in vitro studies, particularly in the areas of immunology and toxicology.
Ms Sønstevold graduated with a cand scient degree in physiology from the University of Oslo in 1983. She has further conducted professional patent education and is a European patent attorney.
Ms Sønstevold is a member of the European Patent Institute, the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys, the Association of Norwegian Patent Agents, the Norwegian Society of Chartered Engineers, the Norwegian Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the Association of Norwegian Physiologists.
