Roy S Melzer (BSc and LLB) manages the activity of Ehrlich & Fenster’s software and information system department, which focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for various computer-based inventions including cybersecurity, database management, advertisement systems, image processing-based inventions such as image compression (decoders and protocols), medical imaging and real-time image processing inventions, parallel processing, telecommunications and internet-related patent applications for international and Israeli companies and entrepreneurs.
Mr Melzer specialises in cases involving complex technical subject matter and legal issues, especially those relating to computer-implemented inventions. He also gained extensive experience in prosecution matters concerning imaging, hardware, optics and technical implementations of business processes.
He is also substantially experienced in the process of developing IP portfolios for start-ups and in providing due diligence reports and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Mr Melzer was noted for his expertise in patent matters in the 2011 and 2012 editions of the Managing Intellectual Property Handbook.
Mr Melzer manages drafting and prosecuting priority patent applications for clients such as IBM, Huawei, Samsung, CyberArk, Top Image Systems and Medical Sensible.
